Store in a cool, dry place. Raw honey crystallises naturally over time — a sign of the real thing, not a fault. Stand the jar in warm water to gently return it to liquid. As with all honey, not recommended for children under 12 months.
We came to beekeeping the way most good things happen — by accident. Bees had lived in our chimney for years. After calling out the local beekeeper one too many times, we decided to learn ourselves. A neighbour down the road, no longer able to manage his hives, passed them on to us. We took them on with enthusiasm and absolutely no idea what we were doing.
That was 2020. Since then we have collected swarms from apple trees, rooftops and hedgerows across Edmondsham and the surrounding villages. The whole family is involved — the children help, the ducks supervise, and every jar of honey is filled, labelled and sent by us.
